Hawaiian fun-stuff 3D art
Barbara Lombardi is grateful to be living on the island of Molokai where she finds natural tropical materials to create her 3-D art. Molokai's serenity allows Barb to stop and study coconuts along the shore, odd pebbles, abandoned shells, sand, and caste off slippers then create endearing figurines and scenes. Barb says there are so many interesting natural objects on the ground, created by mother earth, that find new life as 3-D art.

She is grateful for her talent and continues to discover potential uses of ordinary objects. Neighbors assist by bringing her one-of-a-kind gourds and coconuts for her to transform. Each coconut or gourd figurine comes with a birth certificate but naming these creations is left to the new family. Although Barb talks to her creations as if they are her special children, she thoughtfully parts with the children as they take journeys all over the world to their new families. Her unique, whimsical creations never fail to bring a smile.
She began creating her fanciful art when a friend handed her a coconut and told her she could make something out of it. Lombardi instantly saw a face and went to work using craft items she saves in a closet. Now, her guesthouse is filled with all kinds of quirky creatures angels, fish, sharks, toothy-grinned faces just about anything you can imagine.
